We’re moving into the middle of summer, and temperatures are rising. With more of our residents staying through the summer months, you’ll find there are still a wide variety of activities to keep you busy during July. All of our amazing 4th of July celebrations are back after a 2-year absence, and we have some great music and theater events on the schedule.

Celebrate the 4th of July

 

After two year hiatus for most of the 4th of July celebrations, it’s time to get back out and enjoy a fantastic fireworks display. There are many great options to celebrate the 4th and we’ll highlight a few here.

 

PALM SPRINGS

  • Palm Springs Cultural Center - Celebrate with ’80s hits spun by DJ Mod Girl, a screening of Rocky IV, and fireworks! Click HERE for more info.
  • Palm Springs Swim Center - Enjoy a family-friendly pool party featuring water games, an inflatable slide, music, food, and fireworks! Click HERE for more info.
  • Historic O’Donnell House - AAP-Food Samaritans hosts this fund-raising celebration. You’ll enjoy the city views, singer Keisha D, food catered ty Eight4Nine, and a great view of the fireworks! Click HERE for more info.
  • Saguaro Palm Springs. Cool off and celebrate Independence Day poolside with live DJ sets, a sound bath and yoga session, a BBQ, and a dive-in movie at 8:45 pm. Click HERE for more info.

CATHEDRAL CITY

  • The Roller Rink at Agua Caliente Cathedral City. Get your skates out and enjoy music from the DJ, raffles, and prizes. 7 pm-Midnight. Click HERE for more info.

RANCHO MIRAGE

  • Agua Caliente Casino - Great music from a live DJ and the desert’s largest fireworks display synced with music. Click HERE for more info. 

PALM DESERT

  • Civic Center Park - This big celebration is back! From 7:30 pm-9:30 pm you’ll enjoy Big Band & swing music, a variety of food trucks, and fireworks synced with music. Click HERE for more info. 

 

Taste of Summer: Rancho Mirage - July 11 - Aug 12

 

This annual tradition provides residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy some of the best food from local restaurants while benefitting local non-profits. Proceeds from the wristband sales go to non-profits and the increased traffic keeps local restaurants busy during the summer.

Escape: Bachata & Salsa Festival - July 22 - 25

 

Get out the dancing shoes and head over to Margaritaville Resort for a weekend of non-stop salsa, bachata, and Latin music. This event, held both indoors and poolside, features shows and workshops by professional dancers, Latin-focused DJs, and grand ballroom parties.

Idyllwild Art in the Park - July 2-3, 23-24

 

If you want relief from the hot summer temperatures, it might be time to experience the natural beauty of Idyllwild. Just a 1-hour drive from Palm Springs, you’ll enjoy a variety of paintings, photography, and jewelry in a serene setting, along with live music and some amazing restaurants and boutique shops. Oh, and lots of great hiking and biking.
