As we move towards the end of the high season in the Palm Springs area, we find some of the biggest events of the year taking place. The entire Coachella Valley will be teeming with young music lovers, art lovers will enjoy one of our final art shows of the season, and another fabulous film festival returns with live screenings. It’s a great time to visit the desert, and there’s something for every taste.

SPECIAL EVENTS

 

Coachella Music & Arts Festival - April 15-17, 22-24

 

The largest music event of the year, attracting over 100,000 music-lovers to the Empire Polo Club over two consecutive weekends each April. This years headliners include former One Direction member Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Kanye “Ye” West. The event sells out as soon as the dates are announced, but you can always purchase wristbands for admission from ticket resellers.

Stagecoach - April 29 - May 1

 

Following the Coachella Music Festival, Stagecoach brings 75,000 country music fans to the Empire Polo Club for 3 days of country music. This years headliners include Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Combs. Like Coachella, the event is sold out well in advance, but tickets can be purchased from ticket resellers.

American Documentary and Animation Film Festival - April 7-11

 

It’s back! The 11th annual American Documentary and Animation Film Festival — AmDocs — returns to Palm Springs this month. Featuring over 250 films from creators around the world, this is your chance to see some of the best documentaries all in one place. The opening night event features a new film that honor director Roger Corman. Films will be screened at the Palm Springs Cultural Center as well as several other local venues.

The White Party - April 29 - May 1

 

After a 2-year break due to COVID, Palm Springs' largest and most iconic gay weekend returns for its 32nd anniversary with a 3-day festival that promises to be bigger than ever. Attendees will enjoy live music, pool parties, and themed events, with Paul Abdul headlining on the main stage on Sunday.

Glow in the Park - Through April 29

 

Always innovating and creating new experiences for their visitors, The Living Desert’s newest attraction is a sight to behold. This nighttime display of custom illuminated lantern creations featuring animals, wildlife, and nature scapes is sure to delight young and old alike. Timed tickets are used to manage the number of people in the park and must be purchased in advance.

El Paseo Cruise Night - April 1

 

Come out for the 10th annual El Paseo Cruise Night and enjoy our great weather while watching a parade of classic cars that start cruising El Paseo starting around 4:30pm. Cars start gathering for viewing on the upper level of The Gardens on El Paseo parking structure at 2pm in preparation for the parade later that day.

Palm Springs Vintage Market - April 3

 

Held the first Sunday of every month, the Palm Springs Vintage Market is the perfect place to soak up the area's mid-century modern vibes, enjoy the open air, and take in some chill music. Open from 8 am to 2 pm, admission is an affordable $5 and parking is free. You'll find furniture, artwork, jewelry, and more.

Community Sound Bath - April 7

 

Experience a unique relaxation meditation accompanied by the soothing sounds created on crystal bowls. Sound baths have been used to reduce anxiety, stress, and improve mood, and given all that’s going on in the works, this might be the perfect way to get grounded. So head out to the Joshua Tree Retreat Center and treat yourself to a relaxing sound bath.

Joshua Tree 55 - April 30

 

The 5th annual Joshua Tree 55 is a scenic bike ride through Joshua Tree National Park.  The ride starts at Knott’s Sky Park in Twentynine Palms and provides awesome views of Skull Rock, Cap Rock, and many more gorgeous sights in Joshua Tree. The ride starts early … at 6am … so you’ll need to be up bright and early for this one! Registration includes a t-shirt, entrance to the park, and a boxed lunch.
