Rancho Mirage bears the distinct honor of being called, "The Playground of Presidents."

 

It seems that Presidents have been visiting and playing golf at the Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage when Herbert Hoover played there in 1929. Since then, Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have played golf at Thunderbird.
